Ti-Grace Atkinson: Femifascist of the week

This charming lady was born into a prominent Louisiana family. The "Ti" in her name reflects the French language petite, for little. I can only assume Grace stands for 'brain' in French.

"The institution of sexual intercourse is anti-feminist" -- Ti-Grace Atkinson "Amazon Odyssey" (p. 86)   Trust me, you'll never experience the penis.

"Feminism is the theory, lesbianism is the practice." -- Ti-Grace Atkinson.  Yeah, that explains at least half of the feminists.  They don't like the cock, so they automatically hate men.

"I propose that the phenomenon of love is the psychological pivot in the persecution of women." -- Ti-Grace Atkinson, Radical Feminism and Love. Fun exercise:  read this quote, look at her picture, repeat.

"The price of clinging to the enemy [a man] is your life. To enter into a relationship with a man who has divested himself as completely and publicly from the male role as much as possible would still be a risk. But to relate to a man who has done any less is suicide.... I, personally, have taken the position that I will not appear with any man publicly, where it could possibly be interpreted that we were friends." -- Ti-Grace Atkinson, Amazon Odyssey (New York: Links Books, 1974), pp. 90, 91.   This quote (deranged thought process) so reminds me of grade 1.  Back then girls had 'cooties' and you didn't want much to do with them, let alone been seen with them.  I grew out of that.  I guess some kids never outgrew grade 1.

"Love is the victim's response to the rapist."  What? This sounds more like deranged logic from a rapist themselves, not a feminist.

"Vaginal orgasm as a mass hysterical survival response" (pamphlet, 1968, published by The Feminists).   I can picture this woman as some killer robot, or Dalek, going around saying,"Destroy pleasure...
Destroy pleasure... Destroy pleasure..."  Fitting that it is a pamphlet. I've never trusted pamphlets handed to me on King Street.

Now someone might discount all of this saying that she's a radical feminist and doesn't represent feminism in general.  Dig a little deeper and you'll find out that she was:
  • an early member of the National Organization for Women
  • New York chapter president in 1967.
